How Seats Will be Allocated On 11th September For The Third Round? DU CSAS 2024

Delhi University (DU) has announced significant updates regarding the third round of seat allocation for admissions in 2024. The Registrar of Delhi University, Dr. Vikas Gupta, emphasized that the third round will be different from the previous rounds in several ways, particularly in terms of its allocation criteria and procedures. In this article, we’ll cover How Seats Will be Allocated On 11th September For the Third Round? DU CSAS 2024

According to Dr. Gupta, the third round of seat allocation will be based on the data of candidates available up to 5 PM on Monday, September 9, 2024. Candidates who had not secured a seat by that time were not eligible to participate in the mid-entry process, although they could reorder their preferences. The allocation of seats will have no relation to the cut-offs or ranks from the previous rounds.

Statistics from the Mid-Entry Process

The mid-entry process saw 22,310 candidates fill and lock their preferences afresh. Meanwhile, DU reported the following figures:

It is notable that the highest number of vacant seats was found in the ST category, highlighting a potential gap in candidate availability for this category.

In a previous special upgrade round, 2,881 candidates applied for an upgrade, but only 2,682 were successfully upgraded. Many candidates were dissatisfied with their new allocations, leading to a wave of requests for withdrawal. However, the option to withdraw was temporarily disabled once the mid-entry round began. The withdrawal tab’s disappearance caused confusion among many students.

Students are advised not to rush into withdrawing from their seats. They should consider the benefits of staying in their current course and college, especially given that DU allows inter-college migration before the start of the third semester. To migrate, students need to clear both their first and second semesters and obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current college.

Delhi University has recently allowed dual degree programs, enabling students to pursue one course from a regular college and another from the School of Open Learning (SOL). This new policy opens up more opportunities for students to diversify their academic pursuits.

The seat allocation results for the third round will be released on September 11, 2024, at 5 PM. The results will include both regular allocations and upgrades for the Supernumerary Quota seats. Candidates must accept their allocated seats by September 13, 2024, 4:59 PM, and complete the fee payment process by September 15, 2024, 4:59 PM.

Best wishes to all candidates awaiting their seat allocations. May you secure a spot in your desired course and become a part of the vibrant DU community.
